The future of Dior is in Raf Simons

Raf Simons made for the AW 2012 Haute Couture collection, a connection to the work of Dior himself, erasing the history of Dior designers.

Raf  Simons‘ debut at Dior show was held in a private house during Paris Haute Couture shows.
The design of the rooms reflected not just the great ability of Raf Simons’ to prepare the perfect set for Dior, but also making a poetic statement. They covered each with fresh flowers, from floor to ceiling : ultramarine blue for one salon, another one in pink, and the others in white and yellow.
“[It was] absolutely poetic,” Alber Elbaz told the Guardian. “It was perfection. Today was a beautiful marriage between a designer and a house.” Marc Jacobs said the collection was “absolutely magnificent” to WWD , while Riccardo Tisci called it “very Raf”. All praises for the long-awaited new designer of Christian Dior.
The collection was quite modest, I could say overall austere, though extremely feminine and beautiful. The key piece was the ‘Bar Jacket’, a classic of one of the first collections of Dior; that Simmons combined with black cigarette pants suits, or jacket-dress, still with black pants. Raf Simmons was the former designer for Jil Sander, for whom his made an amazing last collection, before moving to Dior. He also designs for his own brand, quite successfully, but menswear.

We are happy to see such an exciting comeback of Dior. Can´t wait to see the next collections.
